Manifesto Video
Date: 2020
Duration: 2 months
Project Type: Creative writing, video editing, user research.
In this manifesto video I'm presenting the struggle of an immigrant who has to start over and prove themselves to the world. It is a difficult process to become a citizen, especially if you have to start over.

The Process
During my process I recorded a conversation with my mother and took this audio as the base to create my video. I conducted theoretical research through conversations, creating collages and mind maps. The second part of this process was made while trying to figure out how my camera works. From feedback meetings with my peers I was suggested to conduct searched and analyse videoβs that caught my attention.

In this music video a transition is made of two people sitting in de bath tube, while zoomed in on the ring. After it zoomed out from the ring to the dinning table, I found the transition pretty interesting but ended up not using it in my video.

In the Manifesto video I included a stock video of a riot and reminded me of a Netflix series, The mind explained and how they use different clips to support their video in the intro. As the music in the Manifesto video became louder I tried to include two more stock videoβs in my to support my message.

Here I tried to figure out how to make my video look better with the footage I was able to film. While clicking around I also found out that you can turn all the loose clips into one clip using the βNestβ option.

Figuring out how to remove the noise from my audio.
Reflection
This project gave me insight on how to create a short video and taught me the necessary skills to conduct more theoretical research. I discovered an interests in having conversations with others about social subjects.
